What is dento-facial aesthetics?

Understand the difference between Botox and Dermal Fillers

A smile doesn't end with beautiful teeth

A traditional smile makeover, using modern cosmetic dental techniques, can achieve extraordinary results - a stronger, whiter, straighter smile - but this is really just a "tooth makeover".

As we age, there is a decrease in the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid that gives support and volume to our skin. The results are wrinkles, lines, grooves, depressions and a sunken appearance. With facial aesthetic treatments, we can help smooth out the wrinkles and fill in the folds. Your beautiful, improved smile will be framed by a more youthful-looking, but still age-appropriate, you. This is an actual "smile makeover".

Dento-facial aesthetics addresses the interplay between the mouth and surrounding facial structures so that the appearance of your face as a whole is in harmony.

What is BOTOX?

BOTOX is a trading name for Botulinum Toxin Type A (BTx-A). BTx-A is a purified natural protein that is administered through the skin to work on the underlying muscles of the face.

Over the years of repetitive contractions, these facial muscles cause wrinkles in the overlying skin. BTx_A relaxes the muscles contractions and allows the skin to become smooth again - regaining a more youthful appearance.

BTx-A is especially useful to treat "crow's feet" around the eyes, horizontal foreheads lines and frown lines between the eyes. Results are temporary, lasting for 3 - 6 months.

Botox uses:

  1. Gummy Smile

  2. Forehead Lines

  3. Peri-Oral Lines

  4. Frown Lines

  5. Asymmetries

  6. Crow's Feet

  7. Bruxism/TMD/Hypertrophy: Injections can be used to treat the masticatory muscles in cases of Bruxism/TMD/Facial Pain and to soften a square jawline.

  8. Neck Lines

Hyperactive lip muscles can be relaxed, reducing excessive lip elevation during smiling and eliminating the "Gummy Smile".

What are dermal fillers?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in the body which helps to hydrate and provide volume to our skin - keeping it looking young.

With age, our bodies produce less of this youth-preserving ingredient and skin begins to sag creating unsightly facial lines and grooves, resulting in an overall dull and sunken appearance.

Using an HA-based gel, which is administered into the dermis of the skin, we can quite literally "fill" these lines, grooves and sunken areas - restoring youthful volume to the face and brightening your overall appearance.

HA Dermal Fillers are temporary by nature, lasting anywhere from 6 - 12 months before being completely absorbed by the body.

Dermal Fillers provide immediate results and as such are also ideal for use in lip augmentation to correct asymmetries or provide fuller, more defined lips, which perfectly compliment the outstanding cosmetic dentistry we can provide.

Dermal Filler Uses:

  1. Beautiful Lips

  2. Naso-labial Lines

  3. Intra-oral Defects: Dermal Fillers can be used to correct dark spaces around implants or crowns, easily and safely. Until now, this has been a difficult problem to correct.

  4. Chin Enhancement

  5. Cheek Enhancement

  6. Nose Enhancement

Dermal Fillers can be used to correct dark spaces around implants or crowns, easily and safely.
